I'm Cindy, mom of 7, ages 12 to 35. I also have 7 gorgeous grandchildren. My husband and 3 youngest bought a 125+ year old farmhouse on 2 acres last July. I'm SO ready for some gardening. I adore Roses, Lavender, Daisies, Honeysuckle, and Lilacs. Now I finally have space to grow whatever I want. Looking forward to getting to know all of you and learn all I can. I used to have a large garden with over 100 roses as well as oodles of other plants, but the economy forced us to sell our home and move...and move....and move. 6 times to be exact. Not moving anymore and want to have a yard to entertain my kids and grands.
Hi Cindy and a warm, public welcome to GardenStew I think you are not alone in being so ready for gardening right now It's going to be a fun year here. Glad you joined us
Hi Cindy and welcome to GardenStew from Idaho. Wow! 2 acres! You'll have plenty of room for some beautiful rose gardens and flowerbeds. What state do you live in?
Now is the perfect time to start planning a new Garden Cindy and we're here if you have any questions or need advice. I'm so glad you found us as we love to help each other out. A warm welcome to you from Scotland. I look forward to getting to know you and, hopefully, seeing some photographs of your farmhouse and family.
Hi Cindy, welcome to GardenStew from north central Texas. We love photos of future gardens, in progress gardens and all sorts of local scenery. If you are in the U.S., do you know what growing zone you are in? If not, what country are you in? Climate will determine what will be a perennial or annual for you.
Welcome to a very helpful forum filled with nice folks! We moved, and moved, and now are settled (my husband said a stick of dynamite wouldn't get me off this place) on a small farm in central Texas. I love roses, too, and other flowers and vegetables. We're going to have a lot to talk about!
Welcome from Canada! A 125 yr old house 'n home sounds lovely. Great time to plan your garden too ROSES are always lovely If you can photos NOW (pre-garden) would be terrific so we can all watch your progress.

I'm in southern mid Michigan. Zone 5b. Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am starting some seeds today under lights in my basement. In a few weeks, they can go out to the cold frames. So looking forward to this.
