Hello all. The birds are singing and and the ground is warming up. I'm a new home owner and from moving from an apartment I now have a home to call my own. I also have a front and back yard to do all the projects I want. My first project is a vegetable garden. I should be able to break ground this weekend. I bought an irrigation system and I plan on putting a lot of work into this. I also have a yard that needs help and flower beds need to be made. Right now I've got random bulbs and perrenials sprouting all over the place. There are crocus, tulips, day lilies and peonies shooting up. I love learning new things and applying them to my hobbies. Can't wait to get to know people and start sharing and learning new concepts. Can't wait to get outside and get dirty. Thanks
Welcome to GardenStew Northerner, glad to have you join us. Nothing better for changing your physical health, mental attitude and environment all to a better quality than working in a garden that you love. Don't expect to have the same garden every year...there will always be something you find you want to change as you spend winter making plans for the next years garden. Photos....we love photos of the future garden area, progress photos as you dig in and plants that you choose.
Oh that I will have. I plan on recording the whole process. In fact I've already started. Right now things are rough and I have alot work to do. Thanks for the welcome.

Hi @Northerner and a hearty welcome to GardenStew Isn't it great to see growth popping up all over the place!
Welcome to our forums Northerner - this time from Scotland. Winter has, finally, left us here and spring is beginning to show her face. I'll look forward to hearing all about your progress and, hopefully, seeing lots of photographs.
Hello from Northeast Wisconsin. There is still snow here but we live in an apartment so no garden to plant. Just a few house plants. When we were down in Kenosha we had a large garden. dooley
Well yesterday I weeded the garden, adjusted the drip irrigation. A lady that I met through Facebook's market place sold me some perrenials. I got black eyed Susan, cone flower, ox eye daisy, been balm, yarrow, phlox. She literally dug them up in her beautiful botanical garden. It was a controlled chaos. So I brought them home and put them in water. Within an hour or so they started looking terrible. So I threw them into pots. I sure hope they don't die. And I finally have green beans!!! 83 to be exact and I think a few more will be popping up soon. So I then cleaned up my mess, so that's about it. Today I think I'll do some yard work. Thanks for letting me share...
Gosh you've been busy!! I hope all your perrenials survive for you and that your green beans total keeps increasing.
Thanks! For my first year I think I have a pretty full plate. I may even carve out a perrenial patch in front of the house.
