Hi everyone! I'm an engineer in the San Diego area and have finally, finally started to test out my green thumb while being stuck at home (which is good, because my mom's a Master Gardener and always used me as a helper so.... I have no excuse to not be able to keep stuff alive on my patio ). I love to sing and dance and cuddle my husband and cats in my spare time. Also, any LotR fans on the forum?
Hello and welcome to GardenStew, from the coastline of Karachi city, Pakistan. Nice to finally have a fellow engineer on the forum - So would be interesting bouncing ideas off each other now!

Thanks all for the welcome messages! Hey S-H, I'm primarily in energy systems (microgrids) - how about you?
Yes, I've built those as well. Had been making windmills since I was 12, as I live right at the coast, so wind is always in plentiful supply - That's why I never bothered with buying batteries for my childhood electronic projects - As I always utilized free renewable energy. Soon after this, at around age 14, I got tiny solar panels too. So covered an area of my room's window with it. These were the early 1990s. Soon after the first Gulf War. It did not effect my country or society. But petroleum prices shifted like never before seem - So since that time, I realized the value of alternative energy... Today, I can can easily take my whole house off-grid whenever I like.
