Many days of baking are over, I think! Slovakian Kolache, Lace cookies, Thumbprint cookies and Gingerbread men have been finished and stashed away. I've had to bake other things so that Charlie doesn't eat them all before Christmas!

Many years ago, for many years, I would do nothing but bake the whole week leading up to Christmas.
Pecan Sandies, Chocolate Pixies, two kinds of fudge, brown sugar cookies, sugar cookies, prissy pecans, Lemon bread, Chocolate bread and 8 loaves of cinnamon bread.

I am down to making only the cinnamon bread now, we are still 'wearing' all those goodies from years past. But the cinnamon bread is a have to thing.

I make a Christmas cake but not the traditional heavy fruit cake with marzipan and icing as no-one in the family likes it. So it's a plain Madeira cake with lemon icing but decorated with a Christmas theme. I also make mince pies, fairy cakes, pancakes and scones but that's about it. Oh and we bake our own fruity cinnamon bread and a gingerbread loaf. :-D

I'm glad for you that the baking is over now. I hope that you can just take it easy now until christmas.
    Good luck and bon appétit!

Well done GG. :D We've got the four cookies that we actually eat all ready for Christmas. By rights we should have three more, since seven's the charm, but I think we've got more than enough.
