    Hi. :) :)
I would like to put my wife's pastel pictures onto the internet so that other people can see them, and hopefully, even buy them. Any ideas how I go about this? :-D

    Hi Peter,

I have good things about the following website which allows you to create a free website and add a product store to it with ease.
    http://www.weebly.com/

You may also feel like creating a website in the form of a blog. For that I would recommend WordPress.
    http://wordpress.com/

    Best of luck!

    :D :D Hi Frank.
Well, after a long deliberation between paying to make a website and then advertising and paying to advertise on an established art website, the latter won. Gill is now a member of http://www.yessy.com/trial.html we will see how it goes. Thanks for your help. Peter :D :D

    Hey Peter,

Website creation was a foreign language to me a couple months back...I finally bit the bullet though and got a domain name and hosting at Godaddy.com...Some people like it, some don't...For me Godaddy worked...and all I did from there was install Wordpress which is pretty much a blog based thing but there are a bunch of different themes that you can download for free that can make the process of getting your site together and getting your wifes pictures up pretty easy. It still takes a little time to learn the ins and outs if you're looking to get into the advanced things, but for basic throwing a site up, I found the wordpress route to be easiest, it's pretty cheap too. Good luck.

I second the recommendation of GoDaddy, although only for domain hosting. I've heard some not so great things about their hosting.

I agree with GDC, etsy is the best site for selling anything handmade. Traffic is high. Even Martha Stewart recommends it. :)

You have many options really. You can build her own site using some photo shopping cart software.

Another option is to sell the pictures on stock pictures/photography sites. They will take some % of the earnings but will expose her pics in front of many eyes.

If you decide to go with own site, you can use Flickr to promote it.
