The first two painting effects I did was using water-based Gesso. First I created what looks like tree and shrub foliage. Then I added a grey Gesso to the stream, let that dry and then added stones, and clouds. I get so involved in painting that I forget to take pictures of my evolving work. In the last picture of the finished painting. I didn't not like how the clouds looked, so I painting over them and added the sky color. I also added some, what I hoped looked like flowering trees and a few birds flying.

Wow, I love it! I especially like the way you did the water with the rocks showing through.

Ginny, donna, eileen---thank you so much. I find painting a real stress reliever. Although, when things are not flowing off the brush I simply quit, and start over the next day.

I actually thought "wow!" at the last image Tooty. Step by steps are always appreciated, I love them. Would be nice to take a canoe ride down there.

And wait... they sell Bob Ross-branded easels?
