I have a recipe for Chicken Oregano that I have tweaked and improved over several years. An acquaintance (who only shows up when she wants something) asked me for the recipe. I've worked on this dish for quite a while, and don't particularly want to share it. Am I being selfish, or just protective? It's a quandary for sure! Please give me your opinion.
Keep the recipe to yourself Jane. Why should you feel obliged to share it with someone who only wants to know you when she wants something from you?
Jane, I don’t have to study this for even one second. You just do not give it. I have the same thing with my lemon meringue pie recipe. Simple. Ach meid, friends will accept this from you and the those that cannot accept it or see the humour in it ....welllllll.....how close are they then? What was it that that woman once said— “just say no”. Of course you can send me the recipe to me for safe-keeping. Cackle. p.s. When I told the Bride about this posting of yours and my answer...she came up with yet another variation— give her a recipe but omit an ingredient or two. OMG, what is she like !
Thank you all for your ideas. I decided to tell her no, I worked on this recipe and like to fix it for special occasions so I am not sharing. I did consider the bride's idea, but that may have led to more "conversations" with the sponger. It was a very attractive idea, though . . . .
