    Ha! Funny bird. What kind of bird is it? I haven't seen one like that here, that I recall. Sort of like what I think of as a wren or sparrow but looks a lot larger.

    It's a female house finch.

    I think of finches as so tiny. Maybe she just looks bigger than she is to me! Last year a pair of finches made their nest in a geranium on my porch. They were very fast and very shy.

    I think she approves of the camera equipment somehow!! It looks as though she's giving it an in depth inspection. :D

    What a wonderful photo. I hope the camera passed his inspection.That is a bird I don't recognize

    Its probably because its a female and a lot of finches and sparrow females are dull browns for when they are on a nest, the male House Finch is perhaps the one you notice more.

    I had the camera set up with a cable release to take photos of a hummingbird, luckily I have a few cameras.
