Today marks a milestone-- at some time Congress declared a national poultry day. In celebration I cleaned out both coops, added shavings to the nest boxes and will give them cooked rice later. Life is good in the coop, especially on National Poultry Day!
Anyone else celebrating with their poultry?

Well phooey, I was going to cook chicken breasts for supper tonight....now I guess I need to dress them up in 'buttons and bows' and look at them while we have tuna salad sandwiches instead.

I haven't had poultry in 5 years but really enjoyed the eggs! We have talked of getting 6-8 more recently but probably not until next year.

I was going to come on over there to celebrate, but I chickened-out.
