Today, I drove down the road about a mile to take a picture of the neat crow's nest on the railroad bridge. The crow's nests are on top of concrete pillars that hold the track up. Any way there are three pillars and a crow's nest atop each one. I had never seen baby crows before last year when they nested in the same place. Anyway when I parked and took my camera under the bridge I noticed one of the nests was completely gone. Then I noticed a dead crow on the ground below the nest. It looked like one of the parents. It was so sad. Then upon looking around there were empty 4/10 shotgun shells all over the place. All of the babies were gone too. I don't know why some people have such little regard for living things or anything for that matter. Thanks for hearing me out.
Mindless idiots with nothing better to do than shoot innocent birds and their young. :-x These people shouldn't be allowed to have the use of guns.
It could be someone who looks on crows as nothing more than destroyers of crops if there are any farms around your area. But is also amazing how many people have never been taught the value of life, not matter what the life form is.
That makes me sick to hear such useless killing.Such a sad ending to a lovely begining.Sounds like young boys out of school with nothing to do but destroy something. We have them running here spraying paint all over the buildings in town and on atos parked at homes.Parents need to keep them busy with less idle minds.Skate boarders did this damage.
Yes, I think it was of the younger generation. We have farms but they are miles from any of them. There are not a lot of crows around here so I think it was purely malicious. Anyway, time to move on. As sad as it is, I can't let it rob me of the good things in life by dwelling on it. Thanks for the replys tho, I feel validated.
I'd be really upset too. I am so sick of seeing animals on the losing end of an encounter with humans.
