Juvenilles...

    The first juvenile is still without the longer feathers on its head and the second juvenile must have just got their feathers in and they still look gray and not like the color of an adults. I wonder how long it takes for the juveniles to get their white feathers? I think the first picture is a female because they are larger than the males and she is large.

    Sherry the youngsters take five years to get their full adult plumage as this is when they become sexually mature. You are right the female eagles are larger than the males.

    Kildale...yes, it is really nice to get to see them right in our yard and watching them and all of the ducks and geese fishing...we had eagles in our last area we lived but not like this so close. What we really like is when they chatter with one another, the tree is close so we get to hear it.
