Can't have safari pictures without the king... he is from South Africa - another great place for some bombastic animal viewing.

Hi Andrew. Can I make a request? I am passionate about elephants and would love to see some.
I always thought that bombastic meant pompous or grandiloquent speech or writing. Is this a slang way of using the word that I am just too old to know about?
I love the wildlife photos so don't quit.

    Hi Muddy -

    Elephants are on their way!

I believe you are correct on the meaning of bombastic however last summer I had started to hear it used to describe something fantastic... as in "it was fantastic bombastic". We were actually sitting on a balcony in Portugal talking about where we have been and what we have done and we said, wow, it's been bombastic... we really have a bombastic life and that is how the name of my site was born. (too much information?)
Was is slang or was it the correct usage, I don't know but I thought if Google can become a word the way it has, then bombastic can come to mean better than fantastic.

And actually yesterday I heard a song by Craig David with Fantastic Bombastic in the lyrics and then doing a search I found that Brittany Spears (not that I'm a fan of her's) has a song with it too. So wow, people have really caught on to all my hard work. :)

Ok, TMI (to much info) I know...

Off to find my best elephant pics!

    Andrew

Thanks for the explanation Andrew. Here's wishing you much success with your projects. Or should I say bombastic success?
