Lawn Rings

    I have 6" dark green rings in my lawn that measure 6-8'across. They are all over my 2 1/2 acres. What are they and how do I treat them? :rolleyes:

    Could you possibly get some photographs of these rings for us Sparky as it's easier to deal with this problem for you if we can see it for ourselves.

    Yes, they look like the pic you posted. I'm glad they don't really hurt anything but I think they look silly. :-? Oh well. Thanks for the info. We do have very compacted soil.

    Sounds like fairy rings to me.
    They are typically from old wood lying under the ground from old tree roots, or condtruction debris that has been buried.

    A fungicide can be applied, but short of that, they really don't harm anything other than cosmetically.
    Fert the lawn well and it will blend in better, and as the woody material below ground degrades they to shall begin to fade.

    If the rings are not treated, will the mold spread? I think we have some similar rings in our yard.
