The trestle trail spans Little lake Butte des Morts, from Fritse Park in the town of Menasha to the city of Menasha near the Menasha locks..

4,800 boards were used for the trail that opened August of 2005. It is the largest pedestrian trail crossing a body of water with 1,600 ft. of trail in Wisconsin.

We went there to watch the eagles...one even flew over our heads. The ducks were swimming in the open water and flying everywhere too.

On the bridge there is a major pavilion, 2 fishing platforms, and 2 observation areas . It is a beautiful area to see and when it warms up some we plan on going back and if I get enough courage, maybe I will cross from one side to the other...

They took the train tracks off of the posts in the water and built this bridge...I guess the trains didn't use it for a long time so they thought they would make use of it. A lot of people walk this bridge and take their pets and children. This was our first time on it and I know we will go back again to enjoy the scenery.......Sherry

Nice shots Sherry! Doesn't the water freeze over in the winter?

I thoroughly enjoyed looking at all your photographs Sherry. What an impressive bridge!! I love the shots of the eagles. How I wish I could have been there with you to see those magnificent birds for myself.

Netty...it has to get really cold to freeze and it does at times. There is a lot of current in the water ...we had some warmer weather in the 40's a few weeks ago and maybe that helped it along too...

Oh, those are very good fotos there, Sherry. That tressel is a good place to walk and take pics. There's something cozy about it in the wintertime.
    Thanks for these delightful shots.
