I'm looking for Jasmine seeds. I have never grown this and don't know much about it. I'm thinking its a type of herb. I know its has a very pretty smell. if anyone has seeds or know where I can get some, please let me know-TY.
Only Jasmine I know is a vine and is propagated by cuttings or digging up roots. Never heard of a culinary Jasmine. Although there is a Jasmine rice but do not know if this is a rice variety or is a flavoring.
Jasminum officinale (Common Jasmine) Jasminum sambac (Arabian Jasmine) both are used in Jasmine Tea....I am guessing one of these is the one you want. There are almost a dozen other plants with the common name of Jasmine but I'm not sure they are edible. Jasmine rice smells like Jasmine but is not related.
I don't care for Jasmine Tea but it has a green tea base that you add the blooms too for the flavor. You can use black tea or white tea as the base if you like.
I use jasmine rice all the time, but I have never noticed it smelling like the floral version of jasmine. Does anyone else think it smells like jasmine or is my smeller not noticing that?
Oh yes carolyn, Jasmine rice smells soooo goood. I love it. It's probably the only white rice that I like to eat. I lostly use Wild Rice.
Yes, you are right it is my favorite rice, but the smell doesn't remind me of jasmine flowers... does it remind you of jasmine?
