I have had the Malvaviscus drummondii (Turk's Cap) for a couple of years. It's been blooming since late spring and still going strong. I love the "burst" of red it gives the garden.

This winter, I finally got a start off my aunt's Malvaviscus penduliflorus (Sleepy Hibiscus) to take.
It's really in all it's glory in late fall, before the first frost. But it is starting to put on blooms now.

And here are the blooms side by side. Almost identical... except in size. "Sleepy" is the bigger one.

Looking forward to seeing it covered in these big red blooms.

When it's in full bloom, it reminds me of a Christmas tree. Hopefully we don't get a killing frost before it can really show off.

What beautiful flowers both have. The bright red against the greenery looks fantastic!
