My humans took me for a late nite walk, when on the way back home I went into the weeds. WHEW I wished I hadn't did that. A skunk sprayed me-boy do I stink. H E L P my humans won't let me sleep with them until I can get cleaned up. Anyone with any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, PLEEEASE.

I have always heard that tomato juice gets rid of skunk smell. If I were you I would get a couple of jugs and pour it on him and let it set for a few minutes and then rinse. It may take a couple of tries. It couldn't hurt to try. Good Luck!

We went to the feed store and got a skunk deodorizer. It works like a charm. Put on you vinyl gloves, rub it in and the smell is gone. We used it on Chance and Dan used it on his dog. The pet stores should have it, too. dooley

Poor Max, you are a cutie ;) We bought some stuff at the Vet's office that seemed to work pretty well.

Thankyou Frank. In that link was a help of peroxide and baking soda w/ liquid soap. That seemed to do the trick. Now I know right where that skunk lives, we'll be staying away from that area.

You can try to get rid of the skunk by putting moth balls all around his dwelling. They hate anything that smells better then them. i have also poured simple green all around a skunk dwelling and that drove him off.

Yes noe that max is o.k. I need to find a way to get the smell out of the utility room which serves as a laundry room. I've had incense burning in there and dryer sheets set out, but it still smells. After talking to the neighbor down the road, we may have 2 others along the road also. This is not so good.

Oh poor Max! Boomer and I found a skunk one evening...poor dog grabbed it by the tail and got sprayed right in the mouth!
We both stunk for a while. We used a product called "skunk off" and it worked fairly well. I've also heard vinegar works. How about putting a few open boxes of baking soda around the utility room?
