Here is an update of pictures on the raised grow beds I am making for my 5 grandsons. They all live on our homestead in their own homes.

Before adding the soil we dug up the grass and roots. This left a 5" deep depression we filled with new garden soil. Since the natural ground is almost solid clay, it should hold water for the grow beds. I did the same with my bigger raised bed. On mine I used the bucket on my tractor and dug out about 10" of clay soil. My garden should hold a lot of water in the bottom.
The other four mini beds should be planted tomorrow with the other boys.

Excellent job Papaw and grandsons! Kids love the wonders of nature. I still remember planting my first seed when I was young. Unforgettable.

I'd love to see photographs of your grandsons tending their grow beds and the looks on their faces when they gather their crops.

    PawPaw, you're a wonderful grandparent.
I hope you post photos as the boy's gardens grow.
