Last year was the first I had seen a Wren nesting in one of my birdhouses, it was a House Wren. But this year we have a Bewick's Wren setting up housekeeping. Mr. Wren has been getting at least 3 nests created hoping to please his future Mrs. Wren.

And wouldn't you know it, as soon as I pushed to "take photo button" he ducked back inside...

He ducked inside just as I took the photo ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden )

He seems to be paying more attention to the painted gourd than any of the other spots, but then there are two more gourds and 6 other birdhouses in the garden so he could be really busy getting them all ready for inspections and critique by his future Mrs. Wren.

Well he's certainly spoilt for choice Toni. Now just let's hope that his mate decides that one of them will make the ideal home to bring up their family.

He must have his eye on someone really special with all that work he's putting in. However I hope he is thankful that you have given him a nice headstart with such attractive housing Toni! What's the rent?

They do tend to have a few homes to show off. Always nice when they choose one in your garden.
