A while ago a new supermarket opened in Concord , NH It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) Just before it goes on you hear distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and there is the scent of freshly mowed hay. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks with onions. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) When you approach the egg case, you hear hens clucking and cackling, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying. Philip!! You are sniffing around in Concord?? Are you sniffing the store that begins with M or the one that beginning with H? We don't have any smells in our store. I shop in the 'M' store. It must be the 'H' store. They are an upscale store, with fancy stuff in the aisles. Stands to reason they would smell too. I will check the 'H' store tomorrow, to see if they stink. Jerry
My thoughts of all of you Stewbies are always with me. I rarely go to the grocery store but today I did go there. Low and behold I walked by the veggies and I heard thunder and a gentleman saying "Stand back please for it's going to rain". I thought of this, right here. I smiled quietly with joy. I walked over by the milk and didn't you know???? There was a MOOOOOO! I couldn't believe it. A big grin appeared, I could feel it. Good thoughts in my grocery store. That was very nice. I had to get out of there for I didn't want to smell the good smells that you have told me about for I would be 400 pounds before I left there. Thank you....
Oooooh, a nice Chardonay....or maybe a rum and coke....or a nice cold Harp....oh the fragrance choices are endless.
Hi Folks, Jerry it was the H Store,..things like a Lobster Tank and a Shellfish Steamer make me think it was the upscale store,.. . =================================================== Hi Jane,..no way was the Diaper Aisle on the on the list,..you would be correct in avoiding it. =================================================== Eileen and Toni,..the aroma was a mix,..Brandy Sour and Rum and Blackcurrant,.. :-D =================================================== Barb its amazing how often someone or some comment comes to mind that was mentioned in the Stew,..and in the strangest of places,..its no surprise you were hearing noises in your Grocery Store,..comments and people in the Stew grow on you,..
At this same store I picked up a few lobster for under 5 dollars a pound. Cooked them and enjoyed them. The next day I cooked down the shells and leftover bodies. Then I went and bought a few more and made Lobster Bisque. It was to die for. lobster bisque The next morning I cooked down those shells and bodies with onion, celery and carrots and canned it. lobster stock 2014 Our seafood area does not produce sounds or smells though, just good sales.
