Traffic is insane. Streets have been cordoned off for blocks downtown. No accommodations available anywhere, and rumor has it that latecomers are having to stay in Chattanooga (a couple hours away) as the closest accommodations they can find. The police estimates were more than 100,000 people were celebrating in the Streets of downtown Nashville last night. It's a madhouse.
What's insane is the spectacle that this event has become! I remember when ESPN had to find something to fill time on the fledgling network and picked the NFL draft. People were like, "Whaaa...?"! Now it is must see programming. Weird. Props to the San Francisco 49'ers for picking Deebo Samuel as a WR in round 2! Former USC Gamecock will thrive at the next level.
OMG that's some crowd!! I can't even imagine what it must have been like to be in the middle of so many people. It reminds me of the time I went into Edinburgh at New Year to see the fireworks. Never again!!
