I planted seed for these last year and they started blooming some in January, died down some and started back up when the weather got warmer this year. I planted a lot of seeds and I have trouble with labels fading or washing off so I don't know what these were. Are they trailing? Possibly aubretias. Your description of dying down and coming back fits their profile.Apart from a burst of flowers at this time of year they pretty much give up for the rest of the year (well, mine do )
No, none of the mentioned fits the growth habit of mine unless it is stock. Mine does not have a fragrance and it grows about 2 foot tall.
It looked like ground cover to me and that is why I suggested Rock Cress. Now that I know it is about 2 ft tall, I think it is Stock
The stem of this plant turns into a seed pod directly under the flower when the flower falls off. Is this the way a stock forms it's seed?
I found this picture and it looks like the one I have; it was listed as Matthiola Incana. Thank you for all your responses. flowerlady ( photo / image / picture from flower1lady2000's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from flower1lady2000's Garden )
