Just letting my wonderful Garden Stew friends know, I'll be mostly off line for a week or two or?

Today I experienced a retinal detachment. Eye surgery tomorrow - vitrectomy and laser welding of retina. Star trek type stuff. I have to lay face down and not read except very minimally.

Will miss you all and hope to see you, virtually, soon.

All things will go well and recovery will be quick. Patience is difficult when the body decides to do its own thing. Fortunately it is truly amazing how the body knows all the healing magic. Take care of yourself and hope you have some interesting music, audiobooks or good listening stuff.

My mother had this and the op was no problem to her even though she was well into her 90's.
    Get better soon.

Thanks for all of the encouraging comments.

Surgery went OK yesterday, although it really wasn't my favorite way to spend an afternoon LOL. I opted to be awake while they were sticking sharp objects into my eyeball, which is "interesting". The surgeon says I have to lay on my face for two days except very briefly, then gradually less for a week. That means the plants will just get a very quick watering, nothing else.

    Fortunately there is emotional support.

And audio books. Better get back to it now.

Thanks again! It means a lot!

You are one brave dude, to opt to stay awake during eye surgery!
Your "emotional support" is the very best kind. Dogs don't get fussy, don't want you to do more than you can. Best kind of comfort there is!
About those audio books, how about listening to Travels with Charlie?
Follow doctor's orders, difficult as they may be, and get well soon. We are all pulling for you.

I will join Jane and say that we are all pulling for you.
Mate you look like Capt. Hook. It looks like you are sneaking a perk around the edge of your eyepatch.

It sounds like you have a plan to follow. I know we can count on you to not be hard-headed and to follow the regimen.

it was good to see your foto Daniel, you look calm and defiantly in good spirits. It is good to see you back.

BTW— here is a pic of one of my mum’s quilts. She only made this one sort and sold them.
