While trying to keep myself entertained while stuck inside of the house due to the heat... I finally decided to do something with the old hummingbird feeder.
I liked Mart's idea of using it as a vase. Now to make it cute using what I could find around the house.
Had some of those decorative marbles around and decided to put those inside. Those that were too big to fit, got broken up with a good whack of the hammer.
Then I remembered a vase a co-worker had given me. It was made from a steak sauce bottle, but had the cutest wired ribbon and beads. So I dug it out of the cabinet.
When I find fake flowers on sale, I pick them up and keep on hand to put at my Mom & Dad's graves. So I had plenty to choose from.
But it just didn't seem complete.
Then it came to me! Years ago, my best friend gave me a cute hummingbird figurine that hung on a stand.
So... put it all together and...

Oh yeah... I tossed out the leaky bottom part, but kept the cap and the little plastic flowers.
I'm sure I'll get bored again and will need them for something!

Well you don't have the GardenStew nickname of Countess of cute-ification for nothing. And that is very cute...pretty too.

I think I'll get some more of those marbles to add to it.
    Thanks everyone!

WOW you've done it again!! I'd love to have something just like that as a centre piece on my dining room table. The little hummingbird sets everything off really nicely. Isn't it amazing what you can do when you're bored and start digging around in cupboards and drawers? :stew2:
