I moved this peony last fall. It is an old, old short red one. It developed plenty of buds and looked so promising. Then, nothing. It just kind of sat there and dried up. What would cause this? ( photo / image / picture from stratsmom's Garden ) Poor, Sick Peony ( photo / image / picture from stratsmom's Garden ) I apologize for the poor photo quality~ You all know how challenged I am!
I've had several buds dry up like that this year too, not sure why. With Peony's, I never expect blooms the first year after being moved, but next year I'm sure it will be gorgeous!
Mine bloomed but not like years past. I had to cut some of them back earlier then I all ways do in fall. Going to give my compost tea -this fall.
mine bloomed and then went face down in the mud when it rained, the unopened bulbs just dried up like yours. After weird weather, I am assuming these guys are putting energy into their roots and will see us next year!
