I moved this peony last fall. It is an old, old short red one. It developed plenty of buds and looked so promising. Then, nothing. It just kind of sat there and dried up. What would cause this?

I've had several buds dry up like that this year too, not sure why. With Peony's, I never expect blooms the first year after being moved, but next year I'm sure it will be gorgeous!

mine bloomed and then went face down in the mud when it rained, the unopened bulbs just dried up like yours. After weird weather, I am assuming these guys are putting energy into their roots and will see us next year!
