These used to be tall and very prolific - not so this year. It may be time to plant some new ones.

I noticed that the Echinacea isn't doing well this year - in ANY of the gardens I take care of. It's just a 'bad year' for them I guess. I'm sure they'll do better next year.

This is the first year I've grown them. And for some reason... they are doing pretty good. At least 2 foot tall and full of long lasting blooms. I started them from seed.
I have bought some yellow and white ones from the store... they are hanging in there, but not flourishing like the pink ones.
    Wonder why?

Mine are the prettiest they have ever been. I thought maybe it was the amount of moisture they had. Or maybe how dry they are. I don't have a clue, but they are beautiful. I have never divided mine, either. Have you fertilized them at all or added any compost around them?

White and pink Echinacea are about 1-1/2 ft tall. First year for the pink ones. Yellow? I will have to look for those when they go on sale. The white ones never grow more than 20 inches.

These are one of my favorites. They grew beautifully in my garden when I lived in Chicago, but here in Maryland, I've tried several times and can't seem to get them to establish... No clue why. Sometimes wet, sometimes dry, fed, not fed, doesn't seem to matter. Trying again this year with some white ones in (yet) another spot so we shall see... They sure are pretty.

The butterflies and hummingbirds are loving them! I'll see if the photos are worthy of posting.
