My sis took cuttings and held them over, over the winter and offered them to me right before she and her man headed off for a few weeks vacation. I, of course said yes. When I asked her what colour they were, she told me that she didn't know because she took cuttings from several different plants last year. It was fun anticipating the buds and blooms...and eventually seeing what the resulting colour would be. They look healthy and have 11 bud stems I think. There are five separate plants in that pot. I am well pleased with these.
I'd be well pleased also! It is such a pretty pink and what a nice sister you have to give them to you.
Such a lovely pale pink and so many buds that have still to open. I love it when I get gifts like yours.
2OF--Yes they are so lovely. I haven't had this type of geranium for some time now. Yeah, that was sweet, EILEEN. Thanks STRATSMOM--it truly is.
Gorgeous pink! My friend Mary Ellen's father has wintered over geraniums for years. I do not believe that he has taken cuttings.
I have one lone pink geranium wintered over from last summer. I am hopeful it will last until I can harden it off outside
I love the pink ones too! Usually I see red more often. Although this kind of plant is called Geranium as a nickname, its' botanical genus name is Pelargonium. https://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/29159
Petronius-- I do not know. She has been making cuttings from this geranium for several years. Purp--You are 100% correct.
@Sjoerd, Thank you for the information. It is splendid that your sister can make cuttings for numerous years.
