When I started some of my seeds I took old toilet paper or paper towel holders and cut them in half , I stood them up on an old cookie sheet and put a little dirt and then my seeds inside the toilet paper holder, added a little water and then I sit the hole thing on top of a heating pad on low , And sit them in front of a sunny window . And when they are ready to be set out I just plant the whole thing out in the garden, the cardboard goes right in the ground, And I found it works pretty good.

This one I think I will try this year, I knew there would be more uses for cardboard tubes besides holders for extension cords and computer accessory cords.

    Thank you Margie.

This a great idea for anyone who has problems with cutworms in the garden. Cardboard collars are often recommended for the nasty things. But planting in them eliminates one more thing to do as you plant.
