The main stem of my cucumber plant has always looked a little dry even though cucumbers continue to grow. Today though I found a small hole in the stem about 3 inches above the ground. I’m HOPING it’s not squash bugs or vine borers. No insects visible yet. Any ideas

If the leaves are wilting when they shouldn`t be,, look for borers ! Not that you can fix it now ! You have to use an insecticide,, organic or otherwise to prevent it ! I have no idea why its so difficult for people to understand that some things can not be fixed ! Prevention is the only way to go or just depend on buying your cucumbers at the market !

I tried using bT before anything showed up. The hole is still there and the plant is producing cucumbers but I just wondered if something bore into it in spite of my best efforts

P.S. I have a few cucumbers on the vine now
