Cheese is one of our (3, the other two are mine) mice, she belonged to my sister but Sam wasnt taking very good care of her, so a few days ago I brought Cheese into my room and put her in the cage with one of my mice.
She did fine for awhile, but this morning I looked at her, and she was sitting by the wheel, acting very listless. And shes so skinny! So I picked her up and grabbed her water bottle, and put some sugar and salt in the water (salt for nutrients and sugar to help with energy). She perked right up after I got some of the water into her. Ive got her snuggled up with me in a warm blanket, and every so often I give her a little massage to help blood flow... I hope she'll be ok...

the sugar water was a good idea. Hope cheese is feeling perkier, has she eaten anything? A crushed soda cracker in a bit of warm milk is a good fallback for a sickly critter.

    Poor Cheese

I'm so sorry to hear that your mouse isn't doing well :'( I'm not sure about mice but the vet told me that when I moved Blue Bell, my rabbit, to give him lots of attention but not to over excite or stimulate him. He said that changes like a new location or a new friend in his cage would be stressful for the first couple of days and he would need help getting settled back in to be comfortable before he'd return to his usual happy self. They're too smart for their own good sometimes, I'm glad you're making such a great effort to reassure little Cheese, you seem to be a good parent!

Cheese seems to be doing fine now, maybe it was just stress :) (tho stress is never "just" lol) :)
