    that is exactly what it is....i love them, you can call them gayfeather, blazing star or liatris....very easy to grow.

    Poppy, keep them deadheaded as the finish blooming. Some may even still have flowers coming out, but I would suggest cutting them off anyway, IF the top is already going to seed. Otherwise you will have them everywhere next year.

    I have seen liatris in some gardens. Some garden centers sell them.
