City raccoons fill-in the 3 block void. We are once again seeing raccoons regularly. These two young ones were so untroubled that they began playing in the tree they had taken refuge in in the neighbors yard. Of course this was after I had put frantic Ciara in the house. One was so dumb the other morning that it walked the neighbors fence within a foot of our big dog, Ciara. Ciara who never jumps fences found herself in the neighbors yard. I hope that these youngsters get smart, because Ciara killed the last raccoon that made the mistake of coming into our yard.

We trapped many many this year so far and we never got one in 7 years before that. We also have so many more rabbits around than other years. Now I see fox once in a while also.

I think it goes in cycles. One animal feeding off another.

they're cute... as long as they aren't digging around in the garden!
I haven't seen any so far this year. But, an Armadillo has been digging and digging. Sassy Marie needs to do a better job of keeping it way. Maybe she could get lessons from Ciara? :-D

I hope the youngsters move on without causing any damage. They are rather cute though - in photographs.

Raccoons and armadillos are exotic creatures for me, so I find them both cute and irresistible.

I hope those two will move away so Ciara can have some rest.

Part of the problem with raccoons is they are too darn smart. lol. I could picture the one tossing apples to his buddies. They say that because of loss of habitat city coons are forced to be more creative to survive around humans. It certainly matches what I have witnessed.
