Posted on one of my nearby Neighborhood websites: I need to re-home a rooster, it’s a small rooster and tends to crow a lot. If you're interested, let me know and I’ll jump over my neighbor's fence and get it for you. Think maybe he's getting a bit annoyed by all the crowing???
If his neighbor is on the same website, and he likely is because it’s a huge, sctive neighborhood site, I hope he took the joke in the spirit with which it was obviously intended.
He has a good sense of humour then. You never know he might even be glad if his neighbour were to jump his fence to remove it.
If he jumps the fence to get the crowing rooster, he may get more of a handful than expected. Our first rooster, Cyrus, was a mean dude. He would peck, attack, and generally be a bad boy. When he marched up to the porch and started attacking the patio door, I decided he needed another home. After catching him and stuffing him not too gently into a carrier, I took him to a man down the road and asked if he wanted a rooster (the alternative involved breading and frying for Cyrus). Luckily for Cyrus the guy did want another rooster. After tossing him out of the carrier, I left as quickly as I could before the new "owner" found out what a temper Cyrus had! As Eileen said, not all roosters are wanted.
