Hi all, I had to remove a small birch tree in the backyard last year, I just cut it off as low as possible, left the root and seeded grass over top and all was well or so I thought. This year after the snow disappeared and I fertilized and watered I noticed there is a perfect ring of dead brown grass around the area this root occupies, after a little while some green grass has started to come back but not much. Is the solution to just continue to fertilize and water until it comes back or do I need to remove that root? I have made a note of the stump removal post, drill some holes and add stump remover etc until it's gone but is there anything else I should be concerned about?
