It's almost been a month since I set up my seed starting area. And almost everything I've planted has sprouted and are growing nicely.
The Hyacinth Bean Vines, Cardoon and 4 O'clocks are really taking off.

The Cosmos are also doing well plus a couple of the Ballerina Angel Trumpets have recently sprouted.

And lastly, The Pride of Barbados have joined in and decided to sprout.

Since I was able to move a tray under the growing lights a bit, I started another batch of seeds in it's place. Can't remember what they are at the moment! :D
I'll have to jot down the names when I get home.

WOW, those look stupendous. The Hyacinth Bean Vines will be ready for outdoor planting very soon or at least into larger pots. I have had seedlings bloom when they were shorter than that so be sure the get a lot of sun and you might them blooming indoors.

Cheryl, this can't be your first try at seed-starting! ;)
Your plantlets look fabulous! Toni is right about the hyacinth beans--get 'em in a bigger pot!

By Angel Trumpets do you mean Datura? Found a bunch of those seeds from year before last. Thought I had thrown the thousands I had in the trash. I am going to post them in the seed swap I think.
Your babies are beautiful little plants. Wish I had that much light indoors. Mine have to be done outside. This old farmhouse needs more windows.

Thanks all. When I get home I'll put the Hyacinths in bigger pots.
And Mart... yes... the Ballerina's are Daturas. I just love their frilly purple & white flowers. Also, there's not that much natural light. I set up a flourescent and grow light for them.
And the other seeds I started are White Marigolds, Orange Trumpet Vine and some more coneflowers.

I put the Hyacinth Bean Vines in bigger pots. They really loved it and have really started to grow.... almost too much! :D
They are really trying to climb on anything in their reach and since it's too early to plant them outdoors, I was wondering... Can I trim them back without hurting them?

Cheryl, for some reason I have so little luck with coneflowers/echinacea...do you have any sowing tips you could share? I must be doing something wrong. I think I'd order seed to them, if they hadn't frustrated me so much in years before. I know the butterflies would like...;)

Bodhi... although I've gotten the Coneflowers to germinate... I, too, haven't had much success with them. :(
The first batch I tried starting indoors didn't germinate at all.
Second batch did sprout, but they're very tiny and aren't growing much. And I've put a few packs of seeds in the ground and not one has sprouted.
I keep looking at the garden centers to find some ready to plant... but no luck so far.
Sorry I couldn't pass along any advice.
Anybody else out there can offer some words of wisdom?
