The early bird . . . well, anyway my first Bird of Paradise flower of the season. - Strelitzia reginae Such a fascinating flower. Speaking of birds, this "Pink Powderpuff" still has the hummingbirds and bumblebees swarming. - Calliandra emarginata It's mid-September already, and the "Blue Ginger" is just beginning to open. Dichorisandra thyrsiflora - Clerodendrum thomsoniae - my beloved "Bleeding Heart" vine. A sure sign of the coming of autumn :-? the 'Encore' Azaleas are beginning their fall cycle of bloom Some fruits of the season: Callicarpa americana - American Beautyberry And some rainbow-colored ripening peppers Meanwhile, it's Dendrobium season in the glasshouse.

Oh where do I start!! Your bird of paradise is simply breathtaking and I want, want, want your bleeding heart. Your beauty bush is soooo full of berries and your Dendrobiums are to die for. Can I come live in your garden? Most of my plants have stopped flowering now and we had our first frost last night so the rest will all be dying back.
All that Beauty is blinding. That Bird of P is breathtaking. The Ginger is a wonderful color. Orchids just unbelievable. Powderpuff and Bleeding heart-oh my. Thanks everyone, I'm glad you enjoyed seeing these pictures. This shrub is located on a far corner of the property, :-? near the road, I've never actually caught the birds eating the berries, but - I do know that every one of those berries disappears every year :-o so I guess it's gotta be the birds.
Your beauty berries grow wild here in Texas. We call them Spanish Mulberry. I have never thought of digging one up and planting it in my yard.I see people planting yupons (Sp)They are all over the place here.
How lucky you are to have such a beautiful assortment of pretties right there in your own garden! They are amazing. I always look forward to your garden pictures! Deanna :-D
