    Hello fellow gardeners!
I have some plants that have been in the ground for about alittle under two months. They are all in locations ideal for their variety. I am noticing severe browning of the leaves on several of the plants.. I actually have lost a few of the hostas a few weeks ago.

I have attached some photos.. what could this be?

I am giving them adequate water.. is it the soil (too acidic not acidic enough)? not enough water? the water (too much cholorine)? I have never had these kinds of plant before, so I am still learning how to care for them.

    anyway advice would be awesome!!

plants are: hosta, gardenia, yarrow (moonshine) and pink princess bush

    thank you!

Too much water could be the culprit, how often do you water them?
Also, on Yarrow...are you concerned about the bloom heads that are brown? If so, thats normal, the blooms don't last very long. And Yarrow doesn't need nearly as much water as the other plants do so cut back on watering it.

I agree with Toni... maybe too much water.
Just deadhead the Yarrow when the blooms turn brown and it should reward you with more blooms.

I only have the hosta and many of mine were only planted a couple of months ago too and I'd say my hosta looks about like yours. I always give the plants the benefit of the doubt the first full season I plant them and IMO your hosta looks ok - but - am only saying that as it looks exactly about the same as mine.

The hostas I planted last year looked about what you have now when I planted them but they have totally tripled or quadrupled in size now.

Guess I'm saying re: hostas they don't look that bad to me as it is the lower leaves that are showing the most brown (but don't take me as the definitive answer ;) )

I know location, location, location is important. Believe me, I've learned it the hard way  Not sure about all of them but I know hostas love shade and yarrow likes sun

    Could be overfeeding too.

I think Hosta leaves soon go brown, least mine have.
