I planted this one last year and forgot the name of this one. What is it called? ( photo / image / picture from Tina's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Tina's Garden ) Thanks in advance.
I think it could be either a viburnum or a hydrangea, but I am leaning towards a viburnum. In both hydrangeas & viburnums, the leaves grow opposite to one another & this photo shows opposite growth. I am leaning towards a viburnum because of the leaf appearance. I think hydrangea leaves aren't usually so furrowed. Hydrangea leaves usually look more tender.
Purple, I think you are right. I was looking at the flower, but thinking the foliage reminds me of something, but what? Maybe it is a "snowball viburnum"?
Viburnum leaves have very pronounced jagged edges and the veins are further apart but this Hydrangea has leaves that look exactly like yours. Hydrangea macrophylla http://www.imagejuicy.com/images/plants/h/hydrangea/1/
I am sure the label didn't say hydrangea when I bought it. I think it is a snowball viburnum. It looks very similar to this picture : http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/257006/
