    Building your own Water Feature

Maggie - it is easy and relatively inexpensive to build your own water fountain. All you need is a container to hold water - glazed urns and pots work wonderful for that. Then there are couple of options: you could simple add a pump and a spitter to create a small water garden with the sight and sound of water. Or you could create a dramatic effect in your landscape by building a Vanishing Water Feature.

I used a log to create my rustic fountain. I drilled a hole about 2" in diameter through the center, and ran tubing through it so it gurgles out the top. It sits inside my pond, but could work in other applications.
