Does anyone know what this plant is? I took slips from a plant at someone's house the other day. I knocked on the door and asked them. :D I should be able to get it growing. :D

    It's pretty in bloom.

Doesn't look familiar to me at all. Can you get a picture of the whole plant?

Well, maybe wigelia? give it a google, but I don't think it has yellow flowers. It has small pink tubular/trumpet shaped ones.

The variegation of the leaves make me think Peperomia clusiifolia 'Variegata'

And if they didn't know what it is, they might not have it growing under the proper condition. That leaf you are hold in the last photo looks like it's suffering from ringspot that causes distorted leaves.

By wow, that really does look like it but the leaves are not leathery but very thin and crape paper thin. Also this plant lives down to zero.

Does it have a scent? It reminds me of Houttuynia. but it stinks like fish and has a small white bloom.
Edited to add that it could be Variegated Yellow Loosestrife (Lysimachia punctata 'Alexander')

It had yellow little flower at each leaf intersection. The leaves nor the flowers have an oder.

I am going to use rooting hormone the pot up in the morning if you guys can't identify it.

Sure wish you could ID it.

I think I had one like it or similar to it once. The leaves were thick and shiny though. I cannot recall the name of the one I had, it was many years ago. The one I had was kind of viney.

Barb--The variegated form of Lysimachia punctata (yellow loosestrife) will revert to solid green sometimes. Your plant does look like yellow loosestrife to me. (BTW, I have the nonvariegated form in a bucket, awaiting planting.) I think the variegated form is lovely, makes a bright show even in shady areas. But beware, it can be invasive.

AA, This is a shrub size plant and was showing no signs of 'vineability'. The plant I took clippings from is 8 years old.

I think I agree. If my hubby is right and we have some already in the front and it was vareigated, it is surely invasive. I don't mind keeping these things at bay.

I really like the coloring. Hopefully if I get this one growing the color stays true. Wondering why some revert back to green.

Barb--I don't know why they revert, but I have noticed other variegated plants will too. Maybe the variegated ones aren't as hardy? Less chlorophyll area on the leaf?? Je ne sais pas.
