I start my seeds here in the house. I use a heat mat. Keep it in a plastic container so I can cover to keep humidity in & pesky Miss Kitty out LOL I keep the seeds close to light & they sprout in 5-6 days. Then I put them in the greenhouse on a high shelf. I move them back under light at dusk to extend day length. Also it is warmer in the house for tiny seedlings.
I have some petunia cuttings in this box now.Hope they root soon. Then they will go into greenhouse. Probably won't put them under light. Too much to carry back & forth.
I have cut way,way down on seed growing. I always say this, but this time I mean it.Last year in May I had a stroke & I can't do so much now.

A good showing of flowers, I'm sure Miss Kitty thinks so too. She is content to sleep knowing the flowers will do well. Does she help in the garden? Perhaps dig holes?

Jerry, you should see this cat dig holes! And not just for the usual reason, either LOL We sometimes say she acts like a dog.
3 years ago when she was just a kitten I carefully sowed my petunias & set them on table while I got supper in other room. I thought I had them covered but not good enough. Went back & soil & seeds were all over! Then I had to hurry & find replacement seeds. Then it's "Look what your darn cat did".

Strat, that cat almost got into serious trouble last evening.I have cannas starting on the table in the house.Went in to find some soil dug out.It didn't hurt anything. My own fault,I should have had things covered better.I called my hub"look what your cat just did".He said "Oh she's my cat now?"
