i keep seeing these medium sized brown spiders that run quite fast. I was trying to get the weeds out from under my roses and saw a couple and i remember last year seeing some around the yard in the grass.

Hard to tell what type it is but there about the size of an american nickel to quarter size including the legs.

Anyone else see brownish spiders in the grass?

p.s. i used to garden without gloves a lot but now i almost always have gloves in the garden because of these frequent sightings.

Could be Wolf Spiders. They come in several sizes and are very common.

I see lots of spiders! They are welcome guests in the yard as they eat other bugs. I don't like finding them in the house much though!

I like spiders. They catch and eat the gnats, and their webs are so decorative. We have wolf spiders, some with crosses on their backs, some green ones and lots of brown, black and grey ones that I don't know what are.

I do have those in my yard too, GN, under shrubs and on my porch too. I can't really tell if they are wolf spiders from the photos. They spin gigantic webs that span between two posts or from a planter to the rail. I've never really thought to worry about them.
