So much new growth that seemed to spring up overnight!! My hosta bed is alive with all this new growth! One of the trees in the front yard with its little fuzzy sprigs. So glad the clematis I planted last year is coming back strong! The daylily we planted in honor of my daughter's childhood dog Chloe. It's been moved three different times, and comes back stronger each time!! The creeping jenny re-emerges! The other front yard tree...Paige knows all about trees, I know nothing except that this is such a lovely bloom! The Easter Lilies I planted two seasons ago after they were given to me as a gift in a pot. They've come back strong even though they don't actually bloom by Easter. Every year I struggle to remember the name of this ground cover! Snow something? Sure is pretty though, when it fully flowers and most of that green is obscured by the dainty white blooms! And the mystery bulb. Paige and I planted several bulbs last year, that we found in the garage...no clue if they'd do anything, but here is one brave and strong one nonetheless. Wonder what it will be? Don't you just love spring?
OH yes but I think I'll have to wait a while longer for it to reach me. Thanks for all your lovely photographs - they make the waiting less painful.
So. Over the last two or three weeks we had a few lovely, balmy days of temperatures in the 50s and 60s. And a couple of memorable days it even climbed into the warm and sunny low 70s. And then I posted those photos of spring Babies right? Well. Guess what the forecast is calling for tomorrow? Go on, guess!!
No spring babies here yet but I see the birds are beginning to show up. Not time for the trees to get leaves so there is not too much shelter for them yet. dooley
Just don't send any over here Ronni as I've seen enough of the white stuff to do me until next winter.
You can actually see the ground!! Green stuff!! Photosynthesis in progress! While this area has accumulated GDD's I don't think the flowers were awake to use them. Their alarm clocks are probably set for April. 6+ inches of poor man's fertilizer is scheduled fall from the sky Tuesday. I think I missed the memo that spring has been delayed a few weeks. Jerry
I liked seeing your Spring emergers. You are much further along than we are here. ....and then there was that shocking weather report. Goodness gracious me !
I will be waiting for a while here too...usually we have a blanket of snow protecting my plants but this winter we haven't had much snow in our part of Wisconsin so no blanket.
