Green onions in the grocery right now are $2.00 a bundle. Quite high. I went to the art room to retrieve a string of onions and found this sprouting. After a little reading, I cut it down as directed and soaked it in water. The originating onion was a hyrbid, and it is DECEMBER , so I'm not expecting a garden onion. But I am hoping, maybe, for a pot in the window for green onions for the winter. Has anyone else tried this and had success? Apparently once it grown roots in the water, I can pot it.
