These photos were taken yesterday morning on my weekly walk with a friend. This is the local town pond. My kids lived half their summers here, swimming lessons, canoeing, sailing.

The pond is quite low right now. We draw it down in the winter to control the weeds. IMG_20180128_075453.jpg IMG_20180128_075503.jpg IMG_20180128_075513.jpg

that is a pond? it looks like a tributary with all those wonderful islands out in the midst of the body of it. awesome. my kids didn't get to go swimming or water sporting of anykind in their teenage years. it was too cold every summer.

Now that's my kind of place. I'd enjoying taking a long walk with the dog if we had somewhere like that here.

    What gorgeous piccies, Cayu!
I was surprised like Carolyn at the size of this pond.
I am sure that it is lovely in the summer when it is fuller, but y'know....it looks has a certain look about it in the winter. Romantically wild. Yeah--it has a good feel about it.

Thanks all. Glad you like the looks of it. It is quite large, with islands & a few very small vacation cottages scattered among them. It is one of our town's "gems".
