Nope !! Takes too long and they are running plants ! To cheap here to pay me to grow them !! I mean just how many sweet potatoes does one usually eat ? One or two,, maybe three ?? I much prefer squash, peppers, tomatoes, regular white potatoes, onions, broccoli, cauliflower ect ! You can`t live on just sweet potatoes alone ! Mealtime would be rather boring !

You generally plant sweet potatoes mid summer and harvest in the late fall ! By mid summer I just want to pick whats already growing ! Not do it all over again ! Its a bit hot here in Texas in July and August !

Growing sweet potato slips is easy ! Just take a good sweet potato and stick it in the dirt and water it ! I have grown many of them ! They are also good to eat ! I have a sweet potato now in my kitchen window !

You can also eat the leaves (like you would spinach, sauteed or in soups and stews) and stems. I just found that out. Funny I've always grown them for the foliage and never checked for potatoes.
