The woolly period started about a week ago. Two bright and healthy lambs! My folks are preparing for a few late nights coming up while they deal with the avalanche of spring lambs.

How adorable! Since my repeated requests for two mules have been ignored (denied) by my husband, perhaps he would agree to a few sheep. I'll show him your ewe and lambs photo. That ought to convince him!

Seeing those tiny lambs gave me a real lift even although we're having horrible winter weather. Over here lambing begins around the time the first snowdrops pop up. :-D

We have baby calves and goats for our neighbors. It isn't too cold yet but there are buildings for them to get into like when it's raining.

That is a beautiful thing Frank. I wish I could do those kind of things. My answer is to garden and raise chickens and can. I do have about that many chickens though. LOL

Mart, I just want two mules to look at, groom, feed, and pet. No working, no riding--just spoiling!
My grandfather broke mules to harness, and told such great mule stories that my father recounted to me. The birth of a life-long fascination with mules.
Barb, start gathering pallets and by spring you can start building your sheep cote!

A nice foto of this season's first lambs.
It is always such an interesting and busy time.
Do your folks have lots of sheep to lamb? I wonder of they would like some help. hahaha

We're looking after a lamb in the kitchen. He had a rough couple of nights but he's perked up now a good bit :)

I love little baby lambs. There are a few around here, in the country where I work, amongst all the cattle.
great pics! Take good care, and keep them warm!

Sad news, the little lamb passed away last night :( You can try so hard to look after them but sometimes there is nothing you can do. It's pretty frustrating.
