I was really worried when I saw this growing and expanding daily around one of my blueberry bushes.

Turns out it is neither a mold or a fungus, semi intelligent, can move around your garden and is beneficial. None of that would I have guessed.

It is amazing what typing in "yellow foamy looking fungus" can bring up in Google.

I think I found some of that several years ago when we were having a very wet and warm June. Cool that it moves itself around.

And here I was going to tell you we call that dog vomit fungus! little did I know it isn't really a fungus. It usually can be found on the piles of wood chips I get from my neighbor who trims trees and brings me a load every now and then. Eventually it grows all over the pile.

Looking at it, it's hard to believe that it's beneficial.

Nature continues to amaze. Much like the individual cells in our own body work together to form a functioning unit, the slime mold organisms do the same albeit in a more crude manner. Thanks for the daily reminder to be in awe of the environment Jewell!

I liked this page's way of explaining it, and people's reactions to it.

    http://www.personal.psu.edu/sam21/dogvomit.htm

Here's somebody trying to call it "scrambled egg" slime mold, but I think it is already to late since somebody already named it "dog vomit". Now, the idea of scrambled eggs is quite closely associated with dog vomit in this post. Sorry. But there is good information here.

I am now a supporter of this slime mold! Cool stuff!
