The birds always bring the promise of spring. Chickadees are my heardy forever companions that never leave, even in the depths of winter. The Grey Jays (Whisky Jacks) visit and stayed all winter for the first time this year. Proabably because they were well fed and loved, especially when they call for supper and eat out of my hand. They will go north any day now. I saw Robins yesterday a few kilometers away where some snow has melted. My promise of spring comes with the Robins, The Thrush and the Red Winged Black Birds. There is still so much snow, but they must know something warm and wonderful is on the horizon.
Awww, lovely featherfriends you have there. My spring starts with the oystercatcher's arrival, then the starlings, the wagtails, and summer is near once the swallows are here.
Great shots Melody! Our Robins and Red Winged Black Birds have been back for a few weeks now. This week we welcomed back the Kildeer and Great Blue Herons. Spring is definitely on its way!
