I read about this. Who would steal a whole pavement and how did no-one see or hear them? Let's hope the police go down the right path to find them.
OK, I get it that this is a joke. But believe it or not, there are some people in the world who will literally steal any and every thing which isn't bolted down or welded, or chained... This guy in my area tried to steal concrete slabs from someone's outside garden. But since it was too heavy or stuck - He took a plant instead... Police is still baffled about it, because had this person not been recorded by CCTV camera, nobody would have believed this. Not sure why anybody would do something like that. So obviously, first thing which comes to mind is that this guy probably has some mental health issue. However some say that maybe he was trying to get a trinket for black magic... Where it is said that in order to put a spell on someone. Either to cause harm or to make him or her fall in love with you, (called a "binding spell") - You need an item which was owned by your target person. Of course, in this day and age, nobody believes in anything like black magic. But apparently this man knows something I don't. Also, if this was my house, and my outside garden he stole from - It is highly doubtful that anyone from my household would fall in love with such a person... Here are more examples of people stealing plants.
Well Sjoerd, perhaps the people doing the repairs can cobble something together to get the pathway on the straight and narrow.
